asarwate, a George Saunders column in the New Yorker. he's the fellow who wrote CivilWarLand in Bad Decline, along with several other very strange and sometimes disturbing books. about halfway through the column, he takes a moment to bitch about music-these-days, and quotes some lyrics...and i laughed out loud, because i swear i heard exactly that song on the mostly-decent mostly-spanish-language radio station playing in the car on the road to El Paso. it was...awful. really.
