roadtrip!

it's a very small roadtrip, but... roadtrip!

hopefully the rain will hold off, and the twisty coast-highway will be beautiful, and at the end of it there will be good food and a warm place to sleep by the ocean.

back tomorrow evening, in time for class.

heading north or south? if you're heading north I cannot recommend Griffin House highly enough. Charmingest B&B I've ever stayed at.

heh! thank you for the recommendation -- i didn't get it until i got back home again, but that's ok because we didn't make it as far north as Elk anyhow. we had reservations at a place up in Fort Bragg, just north of Mendocino, but with the dark & rain & fog we stopped early for the night, in Gualala.

...which turned out to be a fine place to stay. there was a hot tub, a fireplace, a nice bed, and the ocean right out the window, and the fancy grocery store next door provided an excellent dinner. i'd love to go back up sometime, though, and explore more of the coast. the St. Orres inn/restaurant also looked very interesting.

thank you! the winds were not so fair, but the music was fine and the ocean was beautiful. also some very good food and very good company. :)
