i'm pretty much packed and cleared out, but still have a few more errands to run. also a sore-throat plaguey sort of thing seems to be trying to catch me, but i'm dodging as best i can. in any case, i'm betting that i won't be leaving the bay area until tomorrow morning, unless

l_stboy comes up with something i haven't thought of.

but...ya know, i'm just fine with that. i'm done with work, i'm free, and my time and my days are only my own...which means that "running late" doesn't mean anything at all right now. and i'd rather take it easy tonight and get good sleep than try to rush out the door.

also: i didn't manage to pull together any visiting-before-going-away thing, so there's a lot of people i'm not going to get to see in person to say goodbye to. i'm sorry for that, but...i'll be back in june, so i'll just have to see all of you then. or at Roast...

thank you! so far, so good. we're in LA and exploring and quite enjoying it. went to the beach today to watch the sunset.

so far, so good. we went to the other Getty today, the restored villa modeled on one in Pompeii, and watched the sunset over the ocean. tomorrow is chicken & waffles with charisse.

indeed. driving Matilda out on the highways makes me grin like a maniac, and i went and climbed around on a rocky beach to watch the sunset. there are a few very minor (and nonstructural) car issues, but nothing really problematic. so far so good...

l_stboy has it somewhere, or several somewheres, but that wouldn't necessarily get me postcards from you)!

it's 111 avondale pl. syracuse ny, 13210. have a really, really, really, really, really good time. i'm so jealous i could just die from it, but (fortunately) also so busy i really don't have time to be scheduling resurrections, so i'll have to refrain.

some sad news -- when i was loading the car last night, i set the hula girl on the back end of the roof of the car. and, due to it being dark and me being all full of fretfulness and stress...forgot her. i remembered 15 miles down the freeway, but she was gone, and my housemate couldn't find her anywhere near the house. it's a lesson in ephemerality and letting things go, i suppose.

but thank you again, very much, for helping make that bit of art happen, and for taking pictures. it made my day, and it still makes me happy to remember. i'm hoping that she fell off somewhere in the oakland streets before i hit the freeway, and that someone finds her who appreciates that sort of thing. i like the idea that she'll make someone else's life a little more surreal.

also: whee! heading out very soon. the car is clean and mostly packed, and we're heading out real soon now.
